• along the east coast of Japan, there was an earthquake with a magnitude of 8.9
• twenty-three (23) foot waves
• epicenter: Miyagi Prefecture
• rising radiation levels by nuclear plants
• about 153 earthquakes, including aftershocks, hit Japan today alone
• expected tsunamis in approx. 50 other countries
